"Dr. Adelman personally conducted the autopsies of five of the six DeFeos: Louise, Ronald Sr., Marc, John and Allison. The sixth DeFeo, the eldest daughter Dawn, 18, was assigned to another forensic pathologist within the Suffolk County Medical Examiner's office under his direct supervision. "It was just too big of a workload for me... I had no idea how controversial a figure Dawn would become..."

Dr. Adelman did not conduct the autopsy of Allison DeFeo; Dr. Irving Rappaport did. See Toxicology Report and Autopsy below.
Ronald DeFeo Sr:
Item 23 and 87 were from the same bullet and bullet jacket that were recovered at the crime scene and during the autopsy.
Item # 23 expended bullet from beneath victim.
Item # 87 cardboard box containing one expended bullet jacket
Item # 47 bullet fragments from Mr. DeFeo.
Item 47 is of an unascertainable origin. In entrance wound # 1 of the autopsy, they found two large fragments in the adjacent muscle, and removed a large yellow metal casing. But in entrance wound #2, there were no bullet removed, and no exit wound. Only small fragments of metal found in the entire wound track. I'm wondering how an expended "bullet" was removed from underneath victim Ron Sr. when it is obvious from the autopsy two LARGE fragments were recovered from the muscle. hmmmm.
If Dawn was shot at close range, there would have been gunpowder deposits in her hair, as well as the wound itself. In the autopsy report listed below, there were NO powder marks or find speckled indentations near her wound area. 'Stippling' or 'tatooing' is the presence of small, dry, reddish orange abrasions caused by unburned powder and small metal fragments striking and abrading the skin. This is not the case with Dawn DeFeo, as she had PARTIALLY BURNT GUNPOWDER ON THE SHOULDERS OF HER NIGHTGOWN.
Herman Race (a private Investigator) testified more than one person committed this crime. He also stated the ballistics report had inaccuracies, and one of the bodies were moved. Fact of the matter, Louise DeFeo's body was moved. He also stated that possibly a second body was moved.
Allison DeFeo:
Item 28 was a piece of metal found underneath Allisons bed. Item 48 was bullet fragments taken from Allison DeFeo during her autopsy. See below. Item 48 are fragments of unascertainable origin.
Note:
In the ballistics report, there is no mention of any bullet found from victim Allison DeFeo.
Item # 22, 33--Louise DeFeo
Item # 37--Marc DeFeo
Item # 38-- John DeFeo
Item # 51--Dawn DeFeo
Item # 23, 87--are from the same shot-- Ronald DeFeo Sr.
Item #70--Hicks home.
