Ronald DeFeo has filed an appeal with the US District Court, Southern District in New York. Ric Osuna has stated the Court has found that the accusations against him were without merit and has summarily dismissed the case. No where in the order of dismissal from Judge Preska does it state the Mr. Osuna has been exonerated, and that Mr. DeFeo's claims were meritless, or the court has certified his work to be true, which is exactly what he is declaring on his website. Good news to all who have been supporting the Family Connections Bill and
the New York Campaign for Telephone Justice. In the last week of session,
the New York State Assembly passed our legislation (see exact wording below),
by a vote of 92 to 39. This is a wonderful first step - though now we need
to continue to push the Senate and, of course, the Governor to support the
legislation as well.
From the NYS Legislative Service E-Watch Alert:
NY-AB 7231 By Aubry. Provides inmates with telephone services utilizing a
debit card system and reasonable collect call system rates. - Passed Assembly
(Vote: Y: 92/N: 39)
